Night-Watch City-Tour (Wednesday, 18:00-21:00)

When the honourable citizens go to bed it's nightwatch time. Old legends become alive when the nightwatchman tells tales, historic facts and anecdotes of his century-long life. With the flickering lights of the lantern you follow him (or her) through the old town of Munich. He knows all rat runs, secret paths and corners in the city. Equipped with a halberd and his flapping coat he guides you through the dark streets...

This is a bit of an unusual city tour during night-time. If you are interested in this, we offer a limited amount of tickets that can be booked via Bettina Haas at sekm13@tum.de. This event is currently sold out.

Conference Dinner: Seehaus, English Garden (Thursday, 19:00-22:00)

The English Garden ("Englischer Garten") is one of the world's largest urban parks. Established already in 1789, the park is located throughout the center of Munich alongside the Isar river.

The park's name was created as closely matches the style of an English country park. Originally, it was created by the Briton Benjamin Thompson, who - in the 18th century - worked for the Bavarian Army.

Today, the English Garden offers numerous leisure activities: Due to cyclists and joggers, games like soccer and frisbee, the park gets lively and crowded in summer time. The park is also famous for its artificial wave that attracts surfers from all over the world. The ice-cold river is refreshing during hot summer days in Munich.

The restaurant "Seehaus" is located right in the heart of the English Garden. Next to Kleinhesseloher Lake on the "Island of the Blessed” it offers a pavilion and typical Bavarian cuisine in the Bavarian Stüberl or its beer garden. The restaurant Seehaus is an idyllic venue for this year's IME conference dinner featuring a modern and cozy atmosphere.
